IN NEW YORK and ON TOUR: Henry V

IN NEW YORK: Shakespeare for Teachers

Each year, The Acting Company reaches over 25,000 students around the country through its celebrated education programs, which include student performances of the shows in our repertoire, a special one-hour presentation of one of Shakespeare's works.  We offer teacher resource guides for all of our productions, workshops, online resources and links to other sites for teachers and students, and our Literacy Through Theater residency program.

For more information on The Acting Company and its Education Programming we invite and encourage you to visit our educational website on myspace: www.myspace.com/theactingcompany.   On this website you can become a “friend” of The Acting Company, leave comments for us, look at what is coming up next for The Company and find links to our other websites.

Students learn technique in an improv workshop

Former Company Member and Teaching Artist, Ezra Knight, working with a group of students in New York City.

For 35 years, The Acting Company has employed the most promising young actors in the American theater, who have played in a wide variety of classic plays for student audiences across the country.  We continue to foster a love of the arts in young people by offering ourselves as a resource to teachers and students and by bringing students together with talented performers and teaching artists to learn about and enjoy the magic of live theater.

As we continue our educational mission, we ask you to help expand our programs – especially our Literacy Through Theater weeklong artistic residencies, which we hope to extend to all of the 50-60 communities we reach each season. For information on how you can help support our arts education programs financially, please visit our giving opportunities page.
