Workshops

There are many educational programs through which The Acting Company reaches out to students in the New York area and in the cities that we visit during our annual tour.  One of the most popular programs is our series of workshops which bring students together with some of the nation's finest young actors and allows them to interact in an open and hands-on environment.

Students learn technique in an improv workshop

Members of The Acting Company work with students during a movement master class.

In many of the cities we visit, The Acting Company's Education Department offers Workshops in classical theater taught by our highly-trained touring Company.   The talented young actors lead students in explorations of Shakespearean texts, mask work, and the basic techniques of acting.  We also have Workshops which introduce students to our production of Romeo and Juliet. Most of these workshops are participatory, where students are actively involved throughout. The workshops are suitable for high school and college level students and can be tailored to the individual needs of a class in consultation with our Education Department.

For a complete catalogue of all the workshops offered by the company this season, please contact the Education Department.

If you are interested in a more intensive program, find out more about our week-long Literacy Through Theater residency program.
