Andrew Weems (Jake
Blount) An Acting Company Alumni member, Andrew has appeared on
Broadway in The Green Bird (directed by Julie Taymor) and
London Assurance (Directed by Joe Dowling). Off Broadway credits
include Troilus and Cressida (directed by Sir Peter Hall),
Cymberline and Pericles (directed by Bartlett Sher), all
at Theater for A New Audience, John Guare’s Woman at a Threshold,
Beckoning (Ensemble Studio Theater), Princess Turandot, Mere
Mortals, Marathon Dancing, Mary MacGregor, and the Acting
Company’s Midsummer Night’s Dream. Regionally, Mr. Weems has
recently appeared in School for Husbands (Westport Country
Playhouse, directed by Doug Hughes), Don Juan (Old Globe),
King John and Rhinoceros (Shakespeare Theater of new Jersey),
Misalliance (Center Stage), Arms and the Man (Intiman
Theater), The Learned Ladies (McCarter Theater), Adding
Machine (Actors Theater of Louisville), Under Milk Wood
(Hartford Stage), Much Ado About Nothing (Long Wharf
Theater), You Can’t Take It With You, A Perfect Ganesh and What
the Butler Saw (Arena Stage), plus many appearances at La Jolla
Playhouse, Folger Theater, and Anne Bogart’s Trinity Repertory
Company, as well as Vienna’s English Theater (All in the Timing),
and Stratford-Upon-Avon. (Cymberline). He is a graduate of
Brown University and University of California, San Diego. Mr. Weems
received the Actor’s Equity Bayfield award for Troilus and
Cressida, a Lucille Lortel Award nomination for Cymbeline,
and the San Diego Theater Critics Award for Don Juan. He is
the author and performer of Namaste Man, a far-flung tale.
